From Freelancer to SaaS Creator: The Artisan of the Day Is Bjørn Lindholm Hansen.
Bjørn Lindholm Hansen has carved a career around building and shipping products with Laravel. A freelance developer from Denmark, Bjørn discovered Laravel around version 5 while transitioning from frontend development and has been using it ever since. "I started using Laravel because it was easy to learn and I loved it," he says.
A Self-Taught Developer
Bjørn's journey began more than a decade ago, as he taught himself through YouTube videos. Over time, he gained experience in digital agencies, ran his own startup, and now works full-time as a freelance Laravel developer, building his path on curiosity and hands-on learning.
Bjørn specializes in SaaS platforms and information-focused web applications. One of his main projects is Reform, a form builder that allows users to create and publish forms, gather submissions, and store data efficiently. Another project uses Laravel to aggregate information from multiple sources, demonstrating how Laravel can manage complex workflows with ease.
A Lean Tech Stack
Bjørn keeps his stack streamlined. He relies on Laravel, Forge or Cloud for deployment, and Inertia for frontend interactions. This combination allows him to iterate quickly, build robust applications, and maintain clarity in both code and architecture.
Advice for the Community
For those just starting with Laravel or looking to expand their skills, Bjørn recommends hands-on experimentation. "Pick a project, try to build it, and then you learn a lot in that process," he advises, emphasizing learning through doing.
Your Story Belongs Here
You don't need to have a course, a talk, or a big launch. If Laravel has been part of your journey (a pivot, a side project, a moment of growth), we'd love to hear about it!
