Building With Purpose: The Artisan of the Day Is Alpesh Nakrani.
From his early PHP projects to leading Acquaint Softtech’s Laravel-first strategy, Alpesh Nakrani has built a career around thoughtful engineering, but also around mentorship, inclusion, and strengthening the Laravel Community.
Alpesh began as a PHP developer, steadily moving into roles with greater responsibility and technical depth. Along the way, Laravel became central to how he built and scaled projects. When Alpesh first encountered Laravel 4.2, it felt transformative. As he puts it, “Laravel was like a breath of fresh air. It became my go-to for creating applications, e-commerce platforms, custom CMS, and even big CRMs in real estate.”
Mentorship and Community Engagement
Alpesh’s contributions to the community have been as significant as his technical work. At Laracon US 2025 in Denver, he offered 15-minute CTO sessions to help developers, founders, and CTOs solve their Laravel challenges. His sessions provided clarity on Laravel bottlenecks, validated app architecture, and offered strategies for scaling applications efficiently.
Helping Differently Abled Artisans
A core part of Alpesh’s mission is empowering differently abled artisans within the Laravel ecosystem. Recognizing the unique challenges faced by developers with disabilities, such as accessibility barriers in tools, limited networking opportunities, and workplace biases, Alpesh has made it his mission to help them find meaningful jobs and help them thrive in the tech space.
Through targeted mentorship, skill-building workshops, and advocacy, he connects these talented individuals with inclusive employers and resources tailored to their needs. He emphasizes practical Laravel training that accommodates diverse abilities, like voice-activated coding setups or adaptive learning paths, ensuring everyone can leverage the framework's elegance without hindrance.
For now, this community operates primarily on WhatsApp via LaraFlex, where members share job leads, collaborate on projects, and offer peer support. It will soon live on Discord, too.
The results are tangible: artisans have launched freelance careers, secured remote roles, and built confidence in their craft. One participant summed it up: “Alpesh's guidance turned my passion for Laravel into a viable livelihood; it's about more than code; it's about community.”
Looking ahead, Alpesh plans to expand this initiative with online courses, partnerships with disability-focused organizations, and events at Laravel meetups to raise awareness. He credits Taylor and the Laravel Community for shaping his approach and projects: “Thank you so much for creating an amazing framework and more than just a framework. It’s also the many tools that spark creativity and growth. Laravel has shaped our code and how I connect to other people in tech.”
Shaping Acquaint Softtech
Alongside his community focus, Alpesh has steered Acquaint Softtech into becoming a Laravel-first company. Under his leadership, Acquaint has become a trusted provider of Laravel development services, offering solutions ranging from MVP development to enterprise-grade applications.
- The company has delivered over 200 Laravel projects and expanded into AI-enabled, SaaS, healthcare, education, and e-commerce domains.
- They constantly adopt tools like Livewire, Jetstream, and Telescope, and build CI/CD pipelines to make development smarter.
Bizvel Initiative
Building on this foundation, Alpesh launched Bizvel, a program teaching Laravel artisans how to turn their coding expertise into successful businesses. Unlike traditional coding courses, Bizvel emphasizes the business side of Laravel:
